Hi! I'm Kat.
I'm proudly Kansan; raised on sweet tea, barefoot summers, miniature golf, and magical worlds between the covers of books. My photography journey began in high school; I dabbled in writing and design more exclusively in the years following, but I came back to photography as a creative outlet after my third child was born.
Photography, for me, is a form telling of stories in tones and emotions. I want to tell your real story; ultimately, I want to see your real life. And I see it all differently. Sometimes it's gorgeous soft light and spring happy colors, other times it's fathomless shadows and moody clouds, or summer heat and gritty greens. But I promise to give you the most genuine version of me, every time.
I have been married to my best friend for almost 20 years, have three amazing and beautiful daughters, half a zoo, and one giant old house we're desperately trying to remodel in our spare time.
Some of my favorite things: coffee, books, gardening, summer, reading, old houses, old dogs, and kids. Jewel tones, Chuck Taylors, broken-in denim, Hawaii, sunflowers, Kansas thunderstorms, Jayhawks, and Sour Patch Kids. High school football, orchestral instruments, alternative music, and going to the movies.
I believe in the human condition, fighting for what is right, and love.
If you'd like to get to know me better before hiring me as your photographer, let's meet up! I've never met a cup of coffee I didn't like.
